Aondrea Maynard : Luminous Shadow at Donna Seager Gallery

San Francisco artist, Aondrea Maynard explores landscape and abstraction in these primordial works. Luminous Shadow is more than a collection of paintings; it is the hushed atmosphere arrived at in a single moment at the cusp between day and evening. Entire paintings are informed by the smallest shard of red or golden light. The surfaces are like still water lit by moonlight. Edges are diffused, inky blacks bleed into subtle grays, aqua floats beneath the upper layers of forest green.

At this point in her career, Maynard has made her presence known in the San Francisco art scene. Her dedication to process and refinement has developed her into an accomplished painter who offers a unique vision of the internal landscape.

Joe Brubaker : Assembled Souls at Donna Seager Gallery

From the day I first opened my gallery, Joe Brubaker has been a favorite among the artists I represent and I sell everything that I put in the gallery. This year's show in October is amazing and coincides with the release of his new book, "Somnambulists" which chronicles his career and creative process. Joe has pooled together friends and artists in the Bay Area to do an installation in the gallery called "Wicker Man", a large figure and installation which serves as an homage to art and the creative process. The collaborators include everyone from woodworkers to fabric artists. I can't wait to see what they come up with.
